The East West Highway

During the last year of our stay in the east coast, we were very adventurous
and just had to try out the East-West Highway which had just opened.
It linked the East Coast of peninsular Malaysia to the West Coast.

One of the many rivers that were left untouched
Massive development work and land mass with forest were cleared
to build very long bridges and roads
Rather scenic bridge cum highways

You see, the scenery was like an inspired Chinese painting
Trees that survived the onslaught

Just had to stop to take pictures with one of the many river scenes
Kota Bahru then was hit by monsoon floods
Sandy Trengganu beaches

Pak Thor pictures

Portrait study of a young me

Unravished by worries and face unlined with age
His attempt at a "silhouette" pciture
After driving such long hours at the East West Highway, the many waterfalls offered a respite
see....such limpid pools and lanquid waters
Also spotted bamboo growing wild fringing the road and stopped to take pictures too.
Then we reached Penang
Colourful and verdant Penang reservoir road
From Kelantan, we went to Golok, a Siamese border town

Blue and white porcelain was a must buy at that time!

After doing the East-West highway, Golok, Kelantan, Penang and Trengganu,
it was time for me to get married!
(We were registered much earlier)

Our next Trengganu trip will be with the children in the 90's!!!!!
