At Cherating, we sought out batik handicraft shops to buy some sarongs back.We stumbled upon Yusof Gajah who was manning one of those craft shops.He is now a famous artist with his own studio and a children's book

Here is Yusof drawing us a batik piece

He does it free hand

Using the canting to apply wax directly onto the cloth

The children were enraptured and enthralled

Then he dipped it into a pail of blue dye

He then cooked it (to set the colour and melt the wax)

The cloth with picture is ready!

Drying the cloth and batik sarongs

His masterpiece for us to take home!!!
