Grand Finale.....

Saya telah sampai ke last blog, atau last posting! Betul! Betul betul last posting!
I have enjoyed taking you readers on a journey of My trek in Trengganu from the 80's to the millenium!
Sungguh seronok jugak membawa para pembaca bersama saya "A Trengganu Trek"......dan rasa nostalgic serta sedih sedikit kerana terpaksa tinggal blog ini sehingga "judging" habis.
I have come to the grand finale of my blog for now. I have thoroughly enjoyed the ride, and it has brought back many memories and happy moments for me.

In researching materials for my blog and googling some of the places and activities mentioned in my blog, I have had some revelations and learnt some things that hitherto I have not known before, for example, I did not know that Aryani Resort was the very one built by Raja Bahrin, a Terenggau prince. I also discovered the popularity of Pasar Payang, for, apart from the words "Pasar Payang" in my old photograph, I really did not know the significance of it!!

These and many other instances are some of my discoveries, and it had been as much a learning for me as I hoped it had been for you!!!

Terima kasih saya ucapkan kepada UKOM Staff Committee,

Stop Press: News on Kenyir in NST dated September 30, 2010

When I opened the New Straits Times today, this article caught my eye:
"It's Duty-Free at Kenyir":

http://www.nst.com.my/nst/articles/22kenyir/Article

I have found some more pictures of our family trip at Kenyir for your viewing pleasure:

Our beautiful chalet had a fantastic balcony that afforded great views of the lake,
the very reason visitors come to Lake Kenyir Resort for... the mesmerising lake!
Awesome beauty of the sky at Lake Kenyir, Art Imitates Nature.

My son and my nephew did a spot of fishing, I took this picture
from my balcony, and they are dwarfed into mere specks, but look at the splendid, poetic beauty of the place!

Even the man-made swimming adds to the beauty of the sea
in the background....words just fail me.

Please pan to the furthest point of the background to see
the breathtakingly beautiful mountains and sky...
Beyond the majestically tall palm trees.
You have to see this to believe this....this is my whole extended family!
One whole Happy family. We filled up the whole tram car
Please see my previous posts on Lake Kenyir

Trengganu: We Will Be Back!!...Terengganu in My Heart!

Here we are now......

Here we are now, at the present time....
more than 20 years later, 3 grown children and near retirement...

How we were then.....

Then !!!! Ha ha ha! How young we were!
Picture shows us at a Dungun beach in the early 80's.
He was a young medical officer and I was Ms Loo, the cikgu from Parit Sulong!

Read the story of how we started our "love affair" with Terengganu
and made it "Terengganu di Hatiku" here:

http://trengganuholiday.blogspot.com/2010/07/trengganu-in-early-80s-dungun-and.html

When we have both retired, we are both going back on a slow road trip to Dungun,
where we first sojourned in 1982, and explore the whole of Trengganu again,
re-visiting the old places and checking out spanking new resorts!!!

Recipe for Improving Your Sex Life

This article is taken
from the SUN newspaper August 2010:

Turtle Egg Buying Frenzy

Talk that turtle eggs can boost the sex lives of the elderly has created a frenzy in Trengganu, China Press reported yesterday.

A recipe for sustaining an active sex life, has sent many local folk making a beeline for the illegal stalls selling turtle eggs at Pasar Besar Kedai Payang in Kuala Trengganu.

The report said that although the commercial sales of turtle eggs are strictly prohibited in the state, these stalls are doing a roaring business, including getting bulk orders from as far away as Kuala Lumpur.

Salleh Sollah, 52, a hawker who has been in the trade for 20 years and was selling the eggs of green sea turtles, or Chelonia Mydas, at RM3 each, said the eggs could fetch as much as RM6 each during the off-peak season. When told it is against the law for him to sell turtle eggs, Salleh said he did not think he was doing anything wrong as he has not selling turtle meat.

"My man doesn't need turtle eggs."

"Because he knows they don't make him more potent."

The environmentalists behind the campaign say they are trying to reach men who buy turtle eggs from street vendors for a dollar and eat them raw with lime and a pinch of salt in the belief they are a natural form of Viagra.

"We said, 'Let's have a sexy girl saying that the man I choose doesn't need sea turtle eggs!
