Cleanest Feet In Tanjung Jara

Not only were the girls the cleanest (always in the bathtub), we also had the cleanest feet, thanks to the urn of water outside the chalet. After the pool and the beach, we went back to the chalet, but before that we washed our feet.

There was this urn filled with cool rain water outside the door on top of the steps.

The water vessels made of clay called ‘Tempayan’ are found
at the bottom of the steps with a water scoop or ‘Gayong’ made of coconut shell
with wooden handle. This practice of washing the feet before entering the house is,
according to the Malay custom, for hygienic reasons.

The girls diligently washed their feet.
Everybody washed their feet.

Emelda also washed her feet.

Outside our room.
Our room was upstairs.

Me .. still downstairs.
Nice chalet smacks of kampung days of yore.
Emelda was still young when she worked for us then.
You can see the urn's strategic place downstairs.
Our beautiful chalet surrounded by lush foliage

Has a generous wooden passageway
Conscientious girls never forgot their homework
After homework, they worked on their journals..there was no blog back then.
